About Me

Haley Jardine, R. Ac

At 20 years old I started having intense digestive pain and discomfort that I felt was not normal. The pain and bloating became so unbearable I decided to go and see a doctor. I went to an MD and explained that I thought something was wrong. She told me to take some tums, avoid spicy food and scheduled me for some blood work. After 5 minutes I left feeling frustrated, unheard and disheartened. Determined to figure out the root of the problem I did some research and booked an appointment with a Doctor of Chinese Medicine. She invited me into her home and we talked about my body for over an hour. She listened intently to every detail I told her; nothing was overlooked or pushed aside or declared irrelevant. She looked at my tongue, felt my pulse and soon I was lying on her treatment table with acupuncture needles in my legs, arms and stomach. I was definitely uncomfortable and a little bit afraid but as I lay there my fear and frustration soon dissipated and I fell asleep. I left the session feeling great and began to receive acupuncture twice a week. After a few weeks my digestive issues disappeared, my sleep improved and my skin cleared up.

I was not only intrigued to learn more but the whole experience left me feeling inspired to leave my current degree in biology and pursue alternative medicine. I wanted to learn more about the ways in which acupuncture can be used to help people with not only chronic internal conditions but with managing physical and emotional stress. A few months later I enrolled at the International College of TCM in Vancouver to study Chinese Medicine. After studying for 4 years I finally opened the doors of my own practice in hopes of being able to help people as much as I had been helped those many years before.

After 12 years of practicing I recently made the move from the city of Vancouver to the mountain town of Invermere. A big part of this decision to move came from a desire to live a lifestyle that is more easily conducive to overall good health and wellbeing. Being in such close proximity to all the outdoor activities in this area, from skiing to hiking and camping and paddling, makes me very excited. I am not only looking forward to living in such a beautiful place, but to be a part of the community and make a positive impact through my practice. While I studied Chinese medicine, my methodology always blends traditional practices with modern insights and wisdom. Massage, cupping and acupuncture are just three of the many tools I use in the treatment room. Thank you for such a warm welcome to the Valley!
